Bidzina Ivanishvili discomfited being politician

Bidzina Ivanishvili, the outgoing Chairman of the ruling Georgian Dream Party, told Entrepreneur Magazine that he had never considered himself a typical politician. “Everything related to politics, power, and publicity prompted discomfort to me,” he claimed.

Bidzina Ivanishvili said his involvement in Georgian politics had specific goals and objectives. The outgoing GD leader felt obliged to serve the country and the people, which would have been impossible without his direct involvement in politics.

“I initially was saying that my direct participation in politics would be temporary. I quit politics when I thought my mission was over. A high sense of responsibility prompted my political comeback,” Ivanishvili claimed.

Businessman and philanthropist Bidzina Ivanishvili first entered Georgian politics in 2012 through the parliamentary elections. He served as the Prime Minister at that time but voluntarily quit in November 2013. Ivanishvili returned to politics for the second time in 2018 as the chair of the Georgian Dream Party.

Former Georgian Prime Minister and the founder and leader of the ruling Georgian Dream party, Bidzina Ivanishvili, decided to quit politics on Monday.
