Badri Japaridze's case to be sent to Prosecutor's Office for non-attendance at fact-finding commission

The case of one of the Lelo party leaders, Badri Japaridze, who declined to attend a fact-finding commission meeting investigating the 2003-2012 government, will be submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office, the commission decided.

The Commission Head, Tea Tsulukiani, put the issue for a vote.

The case of the Lelo party leader Mamuka Khazaradze will also be sent to the Prosecutor’s Office. In his Facebook post, Khazaradze referred to the “illegitimate parliament” and refused to attend the March 25 commission meeting describing it as a “circus show.”

Tea Tsulukiani explained that according to Article 349 of the Criminal Code, failing to comply with the commission’s requirements could result in criminal penalties, including imprisonment for up to one year.
