Badri Japaridze: Election results were rigged. New elections are needed to get out of crisis
“The election results were rigged and new elections are needed to get out of the crisis,” said Badri Japaridze, the leader of Lelo for Georgia party.
Japaridze noted that the opposition stated its position regarding the parliamentary elections at a meeting with diplomats today.
“Our assessment is unchanged – the election results were rigged and new elections are needed to get out of the crisis. The government has its own assessments, which are fundamentally different from our assessments,” stated Japaridze.
He added that at today’s meeting, all parties stated their position and the next meeting is planned.
The leader of Lelo for Georgia added that the rally will be held again on Saturday.
The leaders of nine parties, including Parliament Speaker Archil Talakvadze, attended the meeting at the US Ambassador’s residence. The EU Ambassador to Georgia has also attended the meeting.
