Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to undertake state visit to Georgia

Today, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, accompanied by his wife, will undertake a state visit to Georgia, as reported by the Georgian Government’s press service.

During this official visit, President Aliyev is scheduled to meet with Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili and Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze.

An official welcoming ceremony will be held in honour of President Aliyev at the Presidential Palace in Georgia, followed by a bilateral meeting between Mikheil Kavelashvili and Ilham Aliyev.

The Prime Minister will host the Azerbaijani leader at the Government Administration. Throughout the day, President Aliyev and Prime Minister Kobakhidze will hold both bilateral and expanded meetings, after which they will address the media with joint statements.

As part of his visit, President Aliyev will lay a wreath at the Heroes’ Memorial in Heroes Square and pay tribute to the memory of Azerbaijan’s national leader, Heydar Aliyev.

Azerbaijan’s President will be accompanied on this visit by a delegation comprising Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov, Presidential Foreign Policy Assistant Hikmet Hajiyev, Minister of Economy Mikhail Jabbarov, Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov, and Minister of Digital Development and Transport Rashad Nabiev.
