As public transport resumes, gov't kicks off lottery to boost Covid-19 vaccination

Public transport resumed operation on Monday after almost a month-long break, aiming to curb the coronavirus spread in the country.

The face mask rule will be strictly monitored during journies, said the Public Relations Manager of Tbilisi Transport Company Tamaz Robakidze.

On top of that, a GEL 2,8 million lottery to encourage citizens to vaccinate kicks off today as part of the COVID-19 vaccine incentives.

The lottery will be drawn daily on the website www.stopcov.lotto.ge until the end of the year, offering 100 and 500 GEL prizes.

Weekly raffles will have prizes of GEL 1,000, 1,500, 5,000 and 10,000, while the final raffle will be held on December 31, offering GEL 100,000, said the lawyer of the Georgian Lottery Company Keti Khutsishvili.

Earlier today, Georgia reported 946 coronavirus cases, 4,351 recoveries, and 48 deaths, increasing the total case tally to 581,815, including 545,961 people recovered and 8,233 dead.
