Armenian President: Ensuring prosperity is our shared duty; committed to deepening bilateral relations
“Ensuring prosperity is our shared responsibility, and we will spare no effort to strengthen Georgian-Armenian relations further,” stated Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan during a joint press conference with his Georgian counterpart, Mikheil Kavelashvili.
Khachaturyan emphasised that Armenian-Georgian cooperation underscores the enduring strategic partnership between the two nations, which continues to evolve and deepen.
“It is a great honour to visit a friendly country. Our relationship once again highlights the importance of our cooperation. Relations rooted in centuries of history and mutual respect hold particular significance for the Armenian people. Recent high-level visits and top-tier bilateral engagements clearly demonstrate the strength of our partnership. We have reached a point of strategic collaboration, transforming our centuries-old friendship into an official alliance.
This relationship has always been strategic; however, today it has gained formal recognition. I discussed many vital issues with my esteemed friend, including various areas of cooperation and future initiatives. We also explored economic, cultural, and educational projects,” Khachaturyan said.
The Armenian President also spoke about regional issues with his Georgian counterpart.
“Armenia is actively preparing for the 17th Conference of the Vital Convention and the 8th European Civil Forum, and we look forward to Georgia’s participation.
Additionally, we addressed regional matters, including the peace agreement signed on August 8 and economic initiatives aligned with Armenia’s proposed peace framework. Our cooperation, founded on sovereignty, identity, and mutual respect, is of great significance.
I am confident that the establishment of peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, along with the planned projects, will transform the South Caucasus into a vital logistics hub. The opening of regional routes will enable the countries of the Persian Gulf, as well as Georgian and Armenian railways, to establish key connections with Europe. Ensuring prosperity is our joint responsibility, and we will spare no effort to deepen Georgian-Armenian relations,” Khachaturyan affirmed.
The Armenian President was accompanied on his visit to Georgia by a delegation comprising Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vahan Kostanyan, Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan, Deputy Arman Khozhoyan, Armenia’s Ambassador to Georgia Ashot Sumbatyan, Head of the Office of the President Khachatur Poghosyan, and Member of Parliament Shirak Torosyan.
Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan is on a two-day visit to Georgia.
