Ancient grave discovered in Tsikhevdavi village, Dusheti Municipality

The grave dating back to the 1st century BC has been discovered in Tsikhevdavi village, Dusheti Municipality.
Four graves are excavated where dead bodies are buried in the so-called embryo pose, characteristic to the pre-Christian era.
Pottery and iron tools were also found in the grave. Head of the expedition Davit Sulkhanishvili said that large-scale excavations would be launched at site starting 2019.
