Education, Science and Youth Minister Givi Mikanadze officially opened the Anaklia Youth Camp.
“You are Georgia’s future, you are this country’s tomorrow,” Mikanadze told students at the opening ceremony.
“The days you spend here will be memorable not only for meeting peers and making new friends, but also for sharing ideas and having meaningful discussions on current issues,” the minister said.
The minister announced that a similar camp will open in Racha’s Shaori soon, describing youth support as “one of our top priorities” with plans for several large-scale initiatives.
The camp, operated by the Youth Agency, will host nearly 3,000 young people throughout 2025. Each session accommodates 240 students aged 18 to 25, beginning with the inaugural group from Georgian Technical University.
According to the Education Ministry, the five-day program aims to increase access to active recreation, promote social integration, and encourage healthy lifestyles. Participants engage in educational, sports, and cognitive activities designed to develop key competencies.
Extensive preparations preceded the camp’s opening, including complete renovation of residential facilities, rehabilitation of administrative buildings, and equipment upgrades. Around 200 selected youth completed leadership training and will be employed at both Anaklia and Shaori summer camps, with 250 leaders working annually across youth camps.
