An inaugural meeting of Dimitri Amilakhvari Georgian-French Dialogue will be held on December 2.

The meeting will be chared by the French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian and Georgian Foreign Minister Davit Zalkaliani.

This initiative was launched in May 2018, as part of the visit of the French Minister of Europe and Foreign Affairs, Jean-Yves Le Drian to Georgia. The Georgian and French Foreign Ministries have been actively engaged on this issue over the past year.

As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia says, the launch of this format highlights the importance of high-level political dialogue between Georgia and France, which is dictated by the need to advance the increasing bilateral co-operation to a qualitatively new level and includes both political and practical dimensions.

The Dialogue covers such areas as:  political and parliamentary engagement; defence and security; trade and economy; culture and education.
