FM Botchorishvili: High-level visits strengthen partnership between Georgia and Central Asia

The Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, Maka Botchorishvili, has assessed the Georgian Prime Minister’s official visit to the Republic of Tajikistan.

She stated that the visit represents a significant step forward in deepening relations between the two countries. Botchorishvili noted that high-level visits create additional opportunities to boost economic and trade ties and strengthen partnerships across various sectors.

“The Prime Minister’s visit to Tajikistan is a significant step in the relations between our two countries. The exchange of high-level visits provides an excellent opportunity to discuss the development of relations across diverse areas,” the Foreign Minister remarked.

The Minister also highlighted the vital importance of Georgia’s cooperation with Central Asian nations in the context of regional connectivity and the development of transit functions.

“Relations with Central Asian countries are generally important and a priority for us, given that Georgia serves as a vital transit country for them. In this context, it is essential to reinforce economic and trade relations, as well as cooperation between our nations in various fields.

Furthermore, partnership with Central Asian states within international organisations is of keen interest to us, and this visit is particularly important in that regard, as it will contribute to the development and strengthening of our relations,” Maka Botchorishvili stated.

The Prime Minister of Georgia, Irakli Kobakhidze, has departed on an official visit to the Republic of Tajikistan. The Georgian Prime Minister is scheduled to meet his Tajik counterpart tete-a-tete and in an expanded session. Additionally, the Head of the Georgian Government will be hosted by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, at the Presidential Palace.
