Air Serbia to launch direct flights between Tbilisi and Belgrade from June 15
A new European air company Air Serbia is entering the Georgian aviation market on June 15. The air company will be implementing direct flights between Tbilisi and Belgrade by Airbus 319 jets three times per week.
According to the newly-appointed General Director of the United Airports of Georgia, Levan Moseshvili, Georgia has been holding negotiations with the air company for several years with TAV Georgia, the sole operator of the Tbilisi and Batumi international airports engaging in the final stage.
“Finally we agreed that direct flights between the capitals of Georgia and Serbia would be implemented three times a week throughout the year,” he said.
Air Serbia is the flag carrier of Serbia. The company’s headquarters is located in Belgrade, and its main hub is Belgrade Nikola Tesla Airport. The air company was established in 1927.
According to the United Airports of Georgia, in 2024, the number of passengers between Georgia and Serbia amounted to 16,839, which is an increase of 66% from 2023.
