According to NDI survey, Georgian government’s stated goal to join EU and NATO is acceptable

Georgian government’s stated goal to join EU and NATO is acceptable for the majority of Georgian population. Besides, more citizens support joining EU than NATO based on survey of National-Democratic Institute (NDI).

Namely, 72% of respondents support Georgian government’s stated goal to join EU, 21% stated it is unacceptable for them while 7% does not know the answer to the question.

As of NATO, 64% of respondents supports Georgian government’s stated goal to join North-Atlantic Treaty Organization, the goal is unacceptable for 26% of respondents; 9% does not know the answer to the question.

Field works of the survey were done in the period November 29 – December 19 throughout Georgia (with the exception of occupied territories). Total 2,298 respondents were interviewed as a result.
NDI survey is implemented with financial support of British government UK aid. The average margin of error is +/- 1.9%.
