Abkhazia’s budget allocates GEL 1,500,000 to improve infrastructure in compact IDP settlements
By decision of Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, GEL 1,500,000 has been allocated from the republic’s budget to address urgent infrastructure needs in densely populated IDP settlements.
Under this initiative, the primary focus will be on refurbishing roofs, rehabilitating facades, upgrading communications, and enhancing communal spaces within these settlements.
According to the press service of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, infrastructure works are set to commence this year and will continue through 2026. The total investment in the project is projected to reach four million Georgian lari.
The assessment of needs within IDP resettlement areas was conducted earlier this year through direct engagement by Giorgi Jincharadze and members of the Abkhazian government, who maintained active communication with the local population.
