Levan Mgaloblishvili, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, has announced his resignation.
“After consulting with my team and the Prime Minister, I have decided to step down from my position. I want to express my gratitude to all employees of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, the ministries, and the deputies of the Supreme Council for their support. I am especially thankful to the thousands of displaced persons I had the opportunity to meet during this brief period. Although our time was short, we managed to carry out small but meaningful projects together. Thank you for your support.
I remain committed to standing by you and defending the rights of internally displaced citizens, both those living beyond the Enguri River and elsewhere,” he wrote on social media.
