Police officers from Georgia’s Ministry of Internal Affairs have arrested 16 individuals in Tbilisi and various regions on charges related to drug trafficking and possession.
According to the ministry, the alleged crimes are punishable by up to 20 years or life imprisonment under Georgian law.
During searches of the suspects’ homes and personal belongings, law enforcement seized large quantities of narcotics prepared for sale, including methamphetamine, cocaine, buprenorphine, clephedrone, methadone, alpha-PVP, marijuana, and cannabis plants.
The investigation is ongoing under several articles of Georgia’s Criminal Code, including Articles 260, 260(3), 19-260(3), 260(4), 261, 265(1), and 273, the ministry’s statement reads.
