130 passengers on Diamond Princess test positive for coronavirus

About 130 on cruise ship Diamond Princess have tested positive for the novel coronavirus, Japanese media reports.

Around 3700 people are on board.

The quarantine has began on February 4 and was supposed to continue until February 19. The local media says the duration of the quarantine may prolong.

The novel coronavirus has killed 910 people, more than 40,000 people are infected.

The majority of deaths from the novel virus happened in mainland China,  one in the Philippines and another in Hong Kong.

The virus has spread to 24 countries.
