Speaker commends law enforcers for preventing internal, external adversaries from obstructing Georgia's peaceful development
“Yesterday, Georgia survived Maidanization, bloodshed, chaos and return to the black past not because some extremists or their foreign instructors came to their common senses but because our law enforcers defended their country,” said Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili at the briefing.
The Speaker commended every police officer, special forces officer, security service officer, and government security officer who “prevented internal and external adversaries from violating the boundaries of the country’s peaceful development,” risking their health and lives.
“Internal and external forces, which for many years have attempted to organize disorder and attempted to wage a decisive fight against the Georgian people yesterday, were defeated. Yesterday, we witnessed individuals ruled from abroad, who, motivated by their own ambitions, hatred and retribution, were ready to overthrow the legitimately elected government and destroy the future of Georgia, our people and our children.
It is not worth speaking about those few adventurers who plotted the attempted overthrow of our government. Their crime is weighted, the charge is measured and they will be punished accordingly,” Papuashvili said.
