“We realized we were faced with possible treason when we set for Atoneli. When I saw the footage, I guessed that something was wrong with what could have been a plan,” said Lekso Burchuladze, son of Paata Burchuladze, leader of the Rustaveli Avenue movement.

According to Lekso Burchuladze, the words of Murtaz Zodelava, a member of the October 4 rally’s organization committee, confirmed internal treason.

“The words of Murtaz Zodelava confirmed internal treason. I could have been a part of the plan, but what happened on Atoneli, I don’t think was part of the plan. Maybe, there was no Plan B or something else should have happened. Paata Burchuladze asserted everything had to happen peacefully. I imagine the version of an open door. No confrontation had to take place when we arrived there,” he said.

Lekso Burchuladze said he wanted to know the October 4 rally plan.

“As time passes and we realize what happened, more questions arise than answers. If one of those 5 organizers knows what the plan was, he should disclose it at the court trial, everyone is interested in who was the traitor in order not to deal with him in the future,” Burchuladze said in a live broadcast with TV Pirveli.
