UNM, supporters rally at PM Garibashvili's house

Members and supporters of the United National Movement party (UNM) are holding a rally in front of the residence of Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili.

Tens of protesters are demanding PM’s resignation. Patrol police on the spot took several people out of the area after calling on demonstrators to uphold the law. GPB correspondent reports the protesters tried to block and paint the carriageway.

The public outcry was triggered by the violent attacks on media by the far-right mob on July 5-6. Fifty-three journalists were targeted in the violence, prompting backlash from the opposition, the international community, and society.
