UNM, Republican party request MP mandate termination

MPs of opposition bloc United National Movement- Power is in Unity, which unites 36 representatives of the United National Movement party (UNM) and the Republican Party, applied to parliament on Wednesday to terminate their parliamentary mandates.

UNM member Levan Bezhashvili said this move would complete a single-party parliament formation process.

Apart from UNM and Republican Party, another bloc member State for the People has the same plan.

Earlier, the Central Election Commission (CEC) annulled the party lists of five election entities: United National Movement-United opposition election bloc, European Georgia, Lelo, Strategy Agmashenebeli, and the Labour party.

No opposition MPs attended the first session of the Parliament of the 10th Convocation on December 11.
