Three Georgian citizens detained at Akhmaji village by occupational forces

The occupational regime detained three Georgian citizens at Akhmaji village of Akhalgori district.

The fourth detainee was a juvenile and the Russian occupants released him soon after the detention of others. The three detained Georgian citizens are locals of Kaspi Municipality.

The so-called Security Committee of occupied Tskhinvali region reported about the detention of Georgian citizens.

The three Georgians Giorgi Zaridze and Merab and Emzar Gamkhitashvilis are charged for having attempted to cross the so-called border illegally. They are taken to Tskhinvali isolator.

The Georgian State Security Service activated a hotline and notified the European Union Monitoring Mission (EUMM) about the detention of Georgian citizens.  The State Security Service says that active work is ongoing for the release of the detainees.
