Opposition urges citizens to protect votes

The opposition leaders react to the exit polls, published by three Georgian television channels, Imedi, Mtavari Arkhi and Formula.

The party leaders believe the Georgian Dream (GD) lost the elections, urging the citizens to protect the votes.

United National Movement (UNM) Chairman Nika Melia claims Georgian Dream lost the race in the capital of Tbilisi.

“Now it is crucial to protect the votes and not let the GD manipulate,” Melia stated.

Girchi-More Freedom, Lelo and Droa party leaders also join Melia’s call for vote protection in Tbilisi and regions of Georgia to “avoid election fraud.”

“Tbilisi will have a coalition government shortly,” Elene Khoshtaria noted.

“Georgian Dream is defeated in Tbilisi, meaning the opposition achieved its goal,” Lelo leader Mamuka Khazaradze stated.

“Elections were rigged en masse. There are facts of that. I hope our foreign observers, from the West and not Belarus, will make the appropriate assessment,” Girchi-More Freedom leader Zurab Japaridze asserted.
