Girchi-More Freedom disputes GD decision to retain opposition mandates
Opposition Girchi-More Freedom party will protest the decision to uphold the opposition MPs mandates by the parliamentary majority.
Zurab Japaridze, party leader, tagged the decision as ‘stupid’ and claimed that the party would attempt to make the ruling party initiate the opposition mandates termination.
According to Zurab Japaridze, the Georgian Dream prefers to blind to the problems refocusing on other issues. He said that the opposition does not trust the ruling party even if it pledges to satisfy the opposition’s four demands.
“The opposition has only the boycott mechanism at hand. The opposition is united in renouncing the parliament unless early elections are called,” Zurab Japaridze claimed.
The parliamentary majority abstained from revoking the mandates of opposition MPs. Most of the opposition parties, who secured their seats through the October 31 parliamentary election, applied for authority termination in a boycott of the election results.
