Complex reform to be carried out in education system

The complex reform will be carried out in the education system that envisages many changes in general, professional and high education institutions as well as science sphere.

According to the Ministry of Education and Science, new study programs will be introduced and a new model for teachers’ certifying and salary policy will be elaborated and approved. Computer labs will be refurbished and provided with WiFi. So-called Streaming lessons will be functioning.

Graduation examinations will be abolished for the 11th and 12th-grade pupils in 2018-2019. Starting 2020, university entrance exams will be held in three obligatory subjects: Georgian language and literature, foreign language and the subject depending on the high-educational institution’s program – Mathematics – technical, History – Humanitarian direction.

Nine new schools will be built in 2019 in Tbilisi and regions, while 265 public schools will be rehabilitated. The reform also means security at schools.

Mikheil Batiashvili, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports is holding a presentation of the complex reform. Georgian Prime Minister Mamuka Bakhtadze opened the activity.
