Actions of civil disobedience have been resumed in Armenia

Actions of civil disobedience have been resumed in Armenia. The supporters of the opposition went out of the street and blocked the streets in Yerevan since morning. Students’ marches are being held in different districts of Yerevan.

As Armenian opposition leader Nikol Pashinyan said earlier, protesters will block some streets in the capital of Armenia today. In the evening, the summarizing protest rally will be held on the Republican Square.

Protest rallies have been started in Yerevan since the end of the March. Opposition and its supporters forced Sarkisian to step down on 23 April after leading protests that were triggered by accusations that Sarkisian manipulated the constitution to remain in power. Sarkisian served as president for a decade before attempting to extend his time as a national leader.

He has urged his supporters to continue street protests. Nikol Pashinyan demands electing the candidate of opposition as Prime Minister of Armenia and calling the snap elections.
