Zurab Japaridze: We’ve repeated seven hundred times that rage, street protests, and pressure are path to free and fair elections

“Rage, street protests, and applying pressure on the regime to fall and organise free, fair elections in this country is a path we have already outlined seven hundred times,” said Zurab Japaridze, leader of the Girch-More Freedom movement.

Japaridze was responding to a post published on social media by Nika Gvaramia, one of the leaders of the Opposition Alliance, in which Gvaramia wrote: “The time has come to state one’s position openly and unequivocally. There will be no more vague and murky texts, no more ‘what can I do, I’ll lose my funding otherwise.’ Let everyone say clearly what they have decided and why.”

Japaridze confirmed that he shares Gvaramia’s position.

“I have read the post, and I agree. Rage, taking to the streets in large numbers, exerting pressure on the regime until it crumbles and free and fair elections are held in this country, this is the path we have already spelt out no fewer than seven hundred times. Anger, street mobilisation, a show of strength and compulsion, pressure applied through this means as well as through others, including from outside, which we are likewise working on; this is how this regime will be changed. We will reach that point, one way or another,” Japaridze stated.
