Georgian Prime Minister’s special representative for relations with Russia Zurab Abashidze said that the issue relating to the reinstatement of flights between Russia and Georgia was brought up by Russia’s Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin in Prague today.
As Zurab Abashidze said, Grigory Karasin linked the ban on flights to the developments occurred in Georgia in June.
Georgian envoy Zurab Abashidze added that Russia is considering to reinstate the flights but no precise date is offered.
‘This issue was brought up by Grigory Karasin noting that the developments occurred in June had an impact on Russia’s decision to suspend direct flights between Georgia and Russia. Russian envoy did not offer a precise date when the ban will be removed. I told him that to make the decision on this issue is their prerogative. When they will be ready, probably, technically, the flights’ resume,’ Zurab Abashidze stressed.
