Wounded and injured soldiers awarded with medals at Defence Ministry

In connection with the 35th anniversary of the Georgian Defence Forces, ten soldiers, who were wounded and injured during the August 2008 war and while fulfilling their duties in international peacekeeping missions, were awarded medals and monetary prizes.

First Deputy Defence Minister Paata Patiashvili thanked the wounded and injured soldiers for their loyal service and, on behalf of the Ministry, pledged support to their families.

He highlighted the role of the Department of Social Issues and Psychological Support and the Medical Department of the Ministry of Defense in the process of caring for wounded and injured soldiers.
