Winter youth programmes to run during school and university holidays
Tbilisi City Hall offers a diverse array of non-formal educational programmes for young people each year during school and university holidays. This winter, up to 20 camps and winter schools will be organised as part of this initiative.
As the Mayor of the capital, Kakha Kaladze, announced today at the municipal government meeting, the programme will engage up to 2,000 young residents of Tbilisi aged between 14 and 29.
“Traditionally, Tbilisi City Hall provides a variety of non-formal educational opportunities for young people during their holidays. The current winter period is no exception, and we are delighted to present engaging and innovative programmes for young people. These will include youth camps, schools, and educational as well as recreational excursions. Within this framework, up to 20 camps and winter schools will be organised across educational, sporting, and artistic themes,” the Mayor explained.
Kakha Kaladze highlighted that the programmes will cover popular and stimulating topics, including artificial intelligence and digital technologies, robotics, film-making, English language, skiing, debates and modern communication skills, public administration, emotional intelligence, artistic woodworking, board game creation, and more.
“In addition, educational excursions to historic sites across Georgia will be organised. The programme aims to bring together a total of 2,000 young people from Tbilisi, offering them opportunities to make new friends, learn exciting skills, and enjoy a productive break,” stated Kakha Kaladze, encouraging young people to participate actively.
The Mayor also expressed hope that many young residents will be keen to take part in this initiative.
“I encourage you to get involved. I believe it will be both enjoyable and rewarding. Supporting young people has always been a key priority for us. Through these kinds of programmes, we aim to inspire young people to explore new interests and pursue diverse opportunities,” he said.
