The United States actively supports Georgia’s aspiration towards NATO and the EU, – Wess Mitchell, Assistant Secretary of State made the regarding statement in his speech at the opening of the NATO-Georgia Public Diplomacy Forum.

He said that the US is proud of its strategic partnership and friendship with Georgia.

“This is my first official visit to Georgia. For the last two days, I was in Brussels along with Mike Pompeo at the NATO Foreign Ministerial during last two days. During these meetings, he underlined the issues that I will underline today. The United States actively supports Georgia’s aspiration towards NATO and the EU.

We stand beside you. We are proud of our strategic partnership and friendship with Georgia.

The NATO door is open for all European democracies that support the values of the alliance and contribute to our overall security plan, “- Mitchell said.

According to him, Georgia is a strong partner of the US.
