“I am standing at the occupational line to remind the Russian government that the world has not forgotten the 2008 events,” Wess Mitchel, Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Issues said while being in Odzisi village, which is adjacent territory of occupied Tskhinvali region.
Wess Mitchel is visiting villages close to the occupied line together with Mikheil Janelidze, Georgian Foreign Minister.
Mitchel underlined that the US does not recognize any division line as international border. He also called on Russia to fulfil commitments taken as taken as per the 2008 truce agreement.
