Wages of public officers to increase, double for mayors in 2022

Wages of public officers will increase, while mayors’ pay will double from January 2022, said Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili during the governmental sitting.

PM said the salary increments was essential to boost the motivation of people employed at state institutions. “It is impossible for mayors to work for GEL 2,000 per month and serve Kutaisi, Batumi. This issue needs to be resolved timely,” the PM said.
