Deputy Economy Minister: Government aims to retain high economic growth trend, ensure rise in wages
“The high economic growth trend in 2025 was reflected in the increase of wages for employees,” said Vakhtang Tsintsadze, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development.
As the Deputy Minister remarked, an increase in monthly wages was observed in almost all sectors of the economy, especially in mining and quarrying, construction, energy, transportation and warehousing.
“Notably, wage rise was observed in both the business and non-business and financial sectors. Wages of employees in the business sector increased by 10.5% (230.8 GEL) in the third quarter of 2025 compared to the same period of the previous year and amounted to 2,420.9 GEL, while wages of employees in the non-business and financial sectors increased by 10.3% (187.4 GEL) and amounted to 2,000.9 GEL. The government aims to retain a high economic growth trend to ensure a rise in wages for employees,” he said.
The National Statistics Service (GeoStat) reported that in the third quarter of 2025, the average monthly nominal earnings in Georgia increased by 10.4 per cent (214.9 GEL) compared to the same quarter of the previous year and amounted to 2,271.6 GEL.
