The voter turnout for noon stood at 17.15%, CEC spokesperson Natia Ioseliani reported at a briefing.
Ioseliani noted that, so far, no complaints have been filed with the district election commissions.
“I would like to draw your attention to a matter that has just come to our notice. Citizens have reportedly been contacted by individuals claiming to represent the CEC, allegedly to verify whether they have voted. Such calls resemble attempts to provoke statements in the CEC’s name. We categorically state that these phone calls were not made by the election administration. It appears that certain individuals are deliberately using the CEC’s name to undermine the institution and mislead voters. We urge everyone not to exploit the CEC’s name or disrupt the electoral process,” Ioseliani said.
Regarding voter activity, as of 12:00, 602,445 voters have visited polling stations. The highest turnout is observed in the Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti regions.
“At this time, no complaints have been filed with the district election commissions,” added Natia Ioseliani.
