Volodymyr Zelenskyy says Ukraine faces difficult choice between losing dignity and key partner
“Currently, the pressure on Ukraine is one of the hardest,” Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told his country in an address Friday, saying that it could face a pivotal choice between “losing dignity or a major partner.”
“Now is one of the most difficult moments of our history. Now, the pressure on Ukraine is one of the heaviest. Now, Ukraine can face a very difficult choice — either losing dignity or risk losing a major partner,” he said.
However, the Ukrainian President vowed to fight to ensure that dignity and freedom were not undermined.
“I will fight 24/7 to ensure that at least two points in the plan are not overlooked — the dignity and freedom of Ukrainians.”
Trump’s 28-point peace plan envisages Ukraine giving up the eastern Donbas region – including areas it currently controls – and shrinking the size of its army. It rules out the deployment of European peacekeepers and says Kyiv must relinquish long-range weapons and not join NATO.
