May 9, Victory Day, commemorating the Soviet Union’s victory over Nazi Germany, is celebrated in the Veterans Park.
In connection with the day, World War II veterans convened in the park. There are 46 World War II veterans in the database of the State Service for Veterans Affairs across the country.
Georgia lost approximately 300 thousand soldiers in WWII.
