“Joe Wilson has one clear aim: to help the United National Movement come to power. This has been his focus for a long time,” said Gia Volski, First Vice-Speaker of Parliament.
According to Volski, “any new resolution or initiative is directed towards installing a puppet government in Georgia.”
“Even though all the leaders of the United National Movement, including Saakashvili and Gvaramia, have condemned Trump and criticised him heavily, cooperation with Joe Wilson has not ceased. It has simply resumed in a new context. The same process is underway in Brussels, where efforts are being made to generate more criticism and mobilise protests to incite unrest.
Any new resolution, proposal, or opinion suggesting that Georgia should not be recognised is fundamentally aimed at bringing a puppet government to Georgia, one that would drag the country into war.
Such an unjust document is unlikely to be adopted. Even if it is approved and recognised by certain groups, its implementation will be limited, as the global situation is shifting. UNM is pushing for continued war, while we are committed to advancing peace processes, ensuring Georgia, with its limited resources, can breathe a sigh of relief,” Volski stated.
Republican Congressman Joe Wilson has introduced a proposal to amend the so-called Georgian Nightmare Non-Recognition Act within the U.S. State Department’s upcoming Authorisation Act.
