Vice Speaker Volski: U.S. administration sees global development differently; war-mongering forces will lose

“The new U.S. administration has embarked on a different course and perceives a distinct trajectory for global development. The divergence between American and European policies will undoubtedly lead to significant consequences,” stated Gia Volski, the First Vice-Speaker of Parliament.

Furthermore, Volski expressed hope that “the war party, responsible for perpetuating conflict across the globe, will be defeated once and for all.”

“In the Georgian context, this statement warrants careful analysis, especially from those who oppose their own country on the grounds of fighting a pro-Russian government. We must reflect on the state of the global political landscape and the urgent demands. European society is genuinely concerned, particularly about the economic downturn. This does not imply that other regions are experiencing better conditions, but there is a clear slowdown. Europe is weary of the bloody wars ravaging Central Europe; this also indicates that the new American administration has charted a different course and foresees a different future for the world.

The clash between American and European policies will undoubtedly yield significant results; hopefully, the war-mongering forces that sustain ongoing conflict will be defeated once and for all,” Volski said, commenting on the U.S. National Security Strategy 2025.

Regarding NATO, Gia Volski emphasised that Georgia’s alliance with the organisation remains an unwavering policy and that Georgia, as an ally, maintains a high level of commitment.

“As for NATO, adherence to its standards is crucial for us in the pursuit of international security. We have repeatedly demonstrated this, often surpassing NATO member states in our efforts and initiatives. Many have paid a heavy price; our children and citizens have sacrificed much. This commitment will never waver. Discussions about membership can and should be held at a higher level than Georgia’s domestic political arena. Nonetheless, NATO and EU standards are acceptable and serve as benchmarks for us. Our alliance with NATO is steadfast. We aim to present ourselves as a reliable partner, capable of contributing effectively in the face of international challenges,” Gia Volski affirmed.

The Trump administration recently unveiled its 2025 National Security Strategy. The document includes criticism of Europe, particularly regarding its restrictions on free speech. It also states that while most Europeans desire peace, this aspiration is not reflected in current policies, largely because governments undermine democratic processes. Additionally, the Strategy asserts
that the strategic priority becomes “ending the perception, and preventing the reality, of NATO as a perpetually expanding alliance.”
