Vice Speaker Volski: Mikheil Saakashvili betrayed Georgia by creating preconditions for Russian invasion
“Mikheil Saakashvili betrayed the country when he created the preconditions for Russia to invade Georgia,” declared First Vice-Speaker of Parliament Gia Volski.
According to Volski, Saakashvili [former President Mikheil Saakashvili] orchestrated processes that ultimately allowed Russia to gain a strategic advantage in the Caucasus.
“Saakashvili betrayed his country by creating the conditions that allowed Russia to invade Georgia. This issue is not merely about who initiated the war; it is about how Saakashvili’s actions enabled Russia to gain an advantage in the Caucasus, seize strategic positions, and occupy vital territories. Meanwhile, Saakashvili himself was welcomed on the red carpet by the West, settled into a palace, and established a brutal, oppressive system of governance. Ultimately, Georgia was the one to suffer the loss. How did he manage to do this? Let us judge what constitutes treason based on this fact alone, rather than on his statements, which are as meaningless as hanging from a tree. The Strasbourg court has described his governance as sadistic, and that should speak volumes,” Volski stressed.
