Head of Investigation Service meets Italian Police Attaché

Merab Gamkrelidze, Head of the Investigation Service of the Georgian Ministry of Finance, held an introductory meeting with Andrea Cilento, Police Attaché at the Embassy of the Republic of Italy to Georgia.

During the meeting, the two officials reviewed current challenges in combating financial and economic crimes, alongside opportunities to reinforce international cooperation between law enforcement agencies.

Particular emphasis was placed on leveraging the expertise of Italian counterparts, advancing inter-agency communication, and participating in specialised training courses to deepen professional knowledge.

The meeting was also attended by Davit Ardazishvili, Deputy Head of the Investigation Service, and Ana Lursmanashvili, Head of the International Relations and Legal Support Division.

According to the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance, both sides agreed to continue developing joint initiatives aimed at enhancing professional collaboration between the relevant authorities of Georgia and the Italian Republic.
