Vice Speaker Volski: Georgia is not engaged in proxy war; expect fierce attacks from all sides

“A separate matter concerns the criticism of Euronest, which gives the impression that Georgia is being targeted from multiple directions. In reality, all these structures are subordinate to the European People’s Party, and they are unified under a single leader,” stated Gia Volski, First Vice-Speaker of the Parliament.

Volski explained that, at present, the situation is being carefully manipulated by the Brussels bureaucracy, which views Georgia as a key target within its wider global ambitions.

“Georgia is not involved in a proxy war, and we should anticipate quite intense attacks from all fronts. These assaults have increased recently, culminating in physical confrontations on October 4. If they do not consider this and make a decision, no one in power will be surprised. However, there is a more serious concern: they may begin to talk about punishing those who oppose these extremist groups and voted for the Georgian Dream. In practice, such punishment would serve as a form of blackmail. I find it hard to imagine that the people could be so degraded as to be confronted and punished simply for supporting the Georgian Dream,” Volski stated.
