Vice PM: US new administration believes US-Georgia strategic cooperation should deepen, move to new stage
“There is a firm position in the leadership of the new administration that strategic cooperation should not only continue but also deepen and move to a qualitatively new stage,” said Levan Davitashvili, Georgian Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development during his visit to the US.
According to the Georgian Vice PM, moving onto a new stage of cooperation will be beneficial for both countries.
“There is a firm position in the leadership of the new administration that this strategic cooperation should not only continue but also deepen and move to a qualitatively new stage, which will be beneficial for both countries,” he said.
Levan Davitashvili met with Andrew L. Peek, the US President’s Special Assistant and Senior Director in the National Security Council for European Affairs, at the White House.
“The meeting in the White House was of special significance and was comprehensive during my US visit. It was very important to speak to the new administration about the priorities that the Georgian Dream government has, and that are fully in line with the visions of President Trump.
I believe there is close coincidence in positions and there are many prospects for cooperation. We spoke about opportunities that our two countries may have under the new administration,” said Levan Davitashvili.
