Vice PM Mdinaradze: Foreign assignments are ‘divide and conquer’ strategy; recognising this is key to protecting our independence

“No citizen of a foreign country will come and decide to become a ruler themselves; they will attempt to do this through the hands of a country’s own people, and we must understand this,” declared Georgia’s Vice Prime Minister and State Minister for the Coordination of Law Enforcement, Mamuka Mdinaradze, speaking to journalists in connection with an action plan written by a foreign consultant for the opposition ahead of the May 26 demonstration.

According to Mdinaradze, it is this understanding that serves as the guarantee that no one will ever strip Georgia of its independence.

“These small pieces of information, taken together, form the chain by which we know full well that all their actions are dependent, regrettably, on instructions from abroad. Whatever assignment comes from outside, each serves the slogan — ‘divide and conquer.’ No citizen of a foreign country will come and decide to become a ruler themselves. They will attempt to do this through the hands of a country’s own people. No representative of any foreign country will come and decide to become president, prime minister, parliamentary speaker, or any other official to govern the country. They will attempt, through the hands of their own people, in our case, through the hands of Georgians, to divide and then to dominate this country. We must understand this, and it is precisely this understanding that is the guarantee that no one will ever, under any circumstances, strip us of our independence,” declared Mamuka Mdinaradze.
