Vice PM Davitashvili: Georgia and U.S. committed to strengthening trade relations

Levan Davitashvili, the Georgian Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, met with Silvia Savich, Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Russia and Eurasia, during his visit to the United States.

During their meeting, they reviewed key trends in Georgia-U.S. trade relations. The Georgian delegation proposed convening a “High-Level Dialogue on Investment and Trade” to address bilateral trade and investment matters.

Davitashvili emphasized the steadily increasing trade turnover between the U.S. and Georgia, noting that Georgia not only serves as a key trade partner for the U.S. but also acts as a hub for distributing U.S. exports to other countries in the region, particularly in the re-export of vehicles and agricultural products.

The discussion also touched on the new administration’s tax policy. By the end of the meeting, both parties expressed their commitment to actively developing mutually beneficial trade relations between Georgia and the United States.
