US President Trump attends Dvalishvili’s UFC fight

Merab Dvalishvili defeated American fighter Sean O’Malley in the UFC 316 super lightweight title bout held in New Jersey, successfully defending his championship belt.

The fight was attended by U.S. President Donald Trump. Following his victory, Dvalishvili approached Trump, received his congratulations, and took a photo with him.

Dvalishvili first claimed the championship title in September of last year by defeating O’Malley. Today marked the second successful title defense of his career, the first having come in January against Umar Nurmagomedov.

With this victory, Dvalishvili now holds a professional MMA record of 20 wins and 4 losses. It also marks his 13th consecutive win, putting him alongside legends like Khabib Nurmagomedov, Demetrious Johnson, Georges St-Pierre, Max Holloway, and Jon Jones. Only Kamaru Usman and Islam Makhachev (15 wins each), and Anderson Silva (16 wins) have longer winning streaks.

The Georgian fighter has remained unbeaten since 2018, defeating four former UFC champions.
