UNM’s Tsitlidze: Stop blaming, or I’ll reveal your pre-October 4 activities

Ana Tsitlidze, a member of the opposition United National Movement party, wrote on social media that questions about October 4 are understandable and that people expect answers. However, she emphasized that the organisers are in custody, where even conversations with their lawyers are recorded and monitored.

Tsitlidze warned that any statement by the organisers “can be used by the regime against the detainees and to increase the number of arrests.” She called for an end to hysteria and finger-pointing.

“Any remark — especially speculative conspiracy talk — can be used by the regime not only to strengthen charges against those already detained but also to expand the number of detainees. The organisers may appear unconcerned about long sentences for themselves, but they are deeply worried about those the regime has held since October 4. Prisoners watch TV and listen — our words outside are their hope and motivation. Let’s not break their spirits,” she stated.

Tsitlidze added that she does not believe in conspiracy theories involving Liluashvili or others, noting that figures such as Levan Khabeishvili, Murtaz Zodelava, and Paata Burchuladze will have no difficulty answering questions when the time comes.

“These people went to prison and sacrificed themselves in this process — what could be a harder question to answer than that? Stop blaming them and stop the hysteria, or I will speak out about what you were doing before October 4 to prevent it from happening,” Tsitlidze wrote.
