UNM’s Tsiskarishvili: Investigative commission wants to ban UNM, but our power comes from people

“The investigative commission aims to ban the United National Movement and revoke our work licenses, but our story doesn’t end at the House of Justice—our strength lies with the people,” said Petre Tsiskarishvili, Secretary General of the opposition United National Movement party.

According to him, the UNM stands for Georgia’s development, progress, and Euro-Atlantic integration.

“This commission has two goals: to discredit Georgia by rewriting the most successful nine-year period—2004 to 2012—as a disaster and to serve Russia’s narrative by blaming Georgia for the war. The truth is, that period was when our country emerged from political and economic stagnation. They want to erase that memory. The second goal is a direct attack on our party—to ban the United National Movement, seize documents, and revoke our legal status. However, our party is not defined by paperwork or state registration. Our foundation is the people. We represent Georgia’s progress and path to the West,” Tsiskarishvili stated.
