UNM's Tina Bokuchava urges President to pardon Mikheil Saakashvili

“Mikheil Saakashvili’s pardoning by President Salome Zourabichvili would be a significant confirmation that she fights together with Georgian people and each of us with all efforts for Georgia’s European future,” said Tina Bokuchava, leader of the Unity-National Movement coalition.

At the Vivamedi Clinic, Bokuchava stated that the jailed ex-president should stand with the Georgian people and not be persecuted.

She spoke about the significance of the Rose Revolution in Georgia’s newest history and remarked that with Mikheil Saakashvili’s leadership, Georgia “regained the country’s development perspective.”

According to Tina Bokuchava, everything is accomplishable with unity.

“This is the day, which should give us back the faith that we can push our country forward. Therefore, it is essential that President Saakashvili, the main creator of the Rose Revolution is free and not persecuted for the idea and achievements through which he transformed a failed country into a modern European state, and opened the way to Europe.

We gathered here to congratulate each other and Georgian citizens on St. George Day and the 21st anniversary of the Rose Revolution and to demand Saakashvili’s liberation from President Salome Zourabichvili. Mikheil Saakashvili’s pardoning by President Salome Zourabichvili would be a significant confirmation that she fights together with Georgian people and each of us will all the available efforts and resources for Georgia’s European future,” she said.
