UNM's Sanikidze: Take to streets on October 4 for peaceful end to regime; freedom for political prisoners
“On October 4, let the Georgian people, every patriotic citizen of the country, take to the streets, together condemn the Russian regime and do everything to see the peaceful end of this government. Freedom for Mikheil Saakashvili, freedom for Levan Khabeishvili, freedom for all the regime’s political prisoners,” declared Levan Sanikidze, a member of the United National Movement, at a briefing following the party’s political council meeting.
According to him, the Political Council of the United National Movement has once again expressed support for Rustaveli Avenue’s initiative concerning October 4.
“The United National Movement’s political council met with the initiator of the October 4 peaceful people’s revolution, Paata Burchuladze, and the civic organisation Rustaveli Avenue. Mr Paata Burchuladze familiarised us with their movement’s plans regarding the October 4 nationwide assembly.
The United National Movement’s political council once again welcomed Rustaveli Avenue’s initiative. Against the backdrop of the illegal and utterly shameful political arrest of our leader, the political council chairman, Levan Khabeishvili, the political council expressed an even more active and firm position, so that on October 4 the Georgian people, every patriotic citizen of our country, should gather not at the criminal and treacherous Russian special operation stations of Georgian Dream, but rather take to the streets.
Together, let us condemn the Russian regime and do everything to see the peaceful end of this government. Freedom for Mikheil Saakashvili, freedom for Levan Khabeishvili, freedom for all the regime’s political prisoners, glory to Georgia,” declared Levan Sanikidze.
