UNM’s Sanikidze: Medical care for Elene Khoshtaria is urgent, but her immediate release remains our primary demand

“Today, Georgia has a de facto government whose policies completely disregard human rights; therefore, we are not surprised by their treatment of Elene Khoshtaria,” stated Levan Sanikidze, a member of the United National Movement (UNM).

According to Sanikidze, “Elene Khoshtaria is an exceptional leader, a person whom the authorities have utterly failed to break.”

“We know that Georgia is currently ruled by a de facto government that is completely devoid of Christian, biblical values, and is defined by its inhumane actions. They pursue a policy that does not account for human rights protection. Therefore, we are not surprised by how they are behaving towards Elene Khoshtaria.

Elene is an exceptional leader, a person whom the authorities have been entirely unable to break over all these years. They are under the deeply mistaken impression that they can diminish Elene through these inhumane acts. Naturally, our immediate demand is for Elene to be urgently provided with appropriate medical assistance, but our ultimate and overarching demand remains her immediate release,” Levan Sanikidze declared.
